Welcome to the starlet community! I’m Sara Jane Abbott, Chief Sparkle Officer of See Jane Sparkle and your stylist and concierge into the sparkle world 💎💖🌍

You may have known me for a long time. Or we are just now meeting for the first time. Here’s what you need to know about me and See Jane Sparkle.

I am a hyper-local globalist, with an empire extending from downtown Skokie, through the northshore of Chicago, to the vineyards of Italy, and across the world to include women in 10 developing countries.

So why am I for you?

BECAUSE you know you have a difference to make with your special brand of sparkle, and you know that we should be connected 👯‍♀️

BECAUSE you know that looking and feeling your best is important to you and those around you #sparklestartsfromwithin

BECAUSE you’ve reached a point in your life where you want to pay it forward and contribute to a more sparkly, more sustainable planet ✨🌍🌀

I’ve had an interesting eclectic life (as I imagine you have as well!). I’ll share a couple of highlights below so that you can get to know me better, if you like (and I look forward to learning more about you too!)

✨My parents were vagabond former-hippies who were always on the move, dragging our family around to 14 different places before we finally settled in Evanston, Illinois 😱🙏😂

💎 While attending New Trier High School, I morphed from tomboy and stamp-collecting super-geek when I discovered fashion as a mode of self-expression. Thrifting, making my own clothes, and music videos fed and soothed my soul 💖 #duranduransuperfan4eva

✨ I’ve traveled, studied fashion, and returned to Evanston, opening my own boutique there from 2012-2017 👗

💎 I have been married to my soul mate for 30 years, and we have 2 wonderful kids together. I couldn’t imagine my life without them!

✨ Working in the fashion industry, and having children, helped open my eyes to the horrible working and living conditions for so many women around the world.

💎 When you buy a hand-made piece of jewelry from See Jane Sparkle, we are contributing to a better planet 💥💥💥

✨ Seriously-- your purchase of fair trade goods makes it possible for a woman in Bolivia, for example, to NOT have to choose which one of her children eats for the day. Fair trade purchases keep women and kids out of the sex industry and contribute to healthier communities worldwide 🌍✨ 

💎 Sit next to me at the next soccer game, because I only drink clean-crafted wines (without chemicals or additives is better for you and the planet) from Scout & Cellar, and I bring my wines with me to share at restaurants and social gatherings 🥂✨

Meet Gloria, my 'sparkle sister' We met in Guatemala and she is a entrepreneur like me. She has chicken and sells the eggs, she sells coffee an she's part of a co-op that creates beautiful jewelry for my See Jane Sparkle boutique. I am so lucky we met!

Beads, Baubles & Brocades was my Senior Collection at Syracuse University -I won the Best Accessory Designer award and it firmly planted the seeds of sparkle for me.

One of my favorite photoshoots with Annette Patko of Bordeaux Studios was at the Colvin House. It was wonderful collaboration with our mutual friend at owner Angela Valavanis. Vintage for the Starlet in all of us was my tagline for the boutique.
